YOU KNOW THAT IN OCTOBER 2001 THE TROWBRIDGE BRANCH PRESENTED TO THE BATH CANCER UNIT
A FURTHER £11,000? WHICH BRINGS
THE TOTAL RAISED, SINCE OUR FORMATION IN 1988 - TO £100,000
January 10th.& 11th.
The Trowbridge Branch held a collection over this two
day period, at the Sainsburys Superstore in Frome, courtesy of the management.
We would like to thank Sainsburys and its customers from Frome and the
surrounding area for their generosity which enabled the Bath Cancer Unit to
benefit by the amazing sum of just
over £1000!!. A good start to
another fund raising year, thank you everyone, hopefully the management will let
us return again.
January 31st. Was the closing date for the Trowbridge Branch's Annual Quiz. Almost £400 was raised in the sale of this 100 questionnaire, with the winner coming from the Trowbridge area. Thank you everyone that took part, your comments re the difficulty of some of the questions have been noted and will be implemented in the next quiz.
February 21st.
The proprietors of the Polebarn Hotel, in
Trowbridge, Jill and Herbie Binder staged another "French" evening for
the benefit of the Bath Cancer Unit. Some
50 guests enjoyed another excellent meal and evening where in excess of £400
was raised for the Unit funds.
May found
the Trowbridge Branch, with their stall at the Trowbridge Lions May Fayre and
thanks to public support the day raised another
£440 for the Unit Support
Group. Again in May
the Trowbridge Branch were in Devizes Town Centre and thanks to its citizens and
visitors, in excess of £640
was collected for BCUSG.
In
March of this year, the Trowbridge Branch of BCUSG had a collection at Coopers Superstore, Westbury, Wiltshire. Thanks to its management, staff and of course their customers, the coffers of the Unit Support Group was added to by the princely sum of £631.N.B. In our efforts to raise funds, we are always seeking Glassware, Ornaments
and China for the Fayres and Events that we attend. If you have items that you
wish to contribute or feel that you can spare a few hours manning our stand
or by assisting on collection days, please telephone either Jeanne on 01225
